The blessing of throats will take place during the 8:30 AM Mass on Tuesday, February 3. This beloved custom dates back to the 16th century, though St. Blaise himself lived in the fourth century.
St. Blaise was the Bishop of Sebaste in Armenia and is remembered for miraculously saving a boy who was choking on a fish bone. Because of this, he is honored as the patron saint of those with throat illnesses.
All are invited to attend the 8:30 AM Mass on February 3 and receive the traditional blessing of throats—a beautiful sign of God’s loving care for His people.
