Dear Holy Angels,
It was early dawn, the first Easter Sunday. The first rays of the rising sun were just piercing the darkness. A group of women came to the tomb of their beloved friend and teacher. What they found there, or rather did not find, was to change the history of the world forever. To their shock, the stone
had been rolled away. In the early morning light they frantically looked for the body of their beloved friend, but did not find it. Suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them and asked, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen."
That moment of dawn was the dawn of a whole new age for humanity. We too would rise to new and eternal life. That moment, so startling and so profound, brought into the world a light that would never go out. That moment has been remembered and celebrated ever since. The rising sun heralded the Rising Son.
For this reason the Easter Sunrise is the moment of the most profound significance. Easter Sunrise Services, both small and grandiose, have become a beloved tradition
to embrace that moment. Always held outdoors at the crack of dawn, these services call to life the atmosphere and awesome mystery of that first Easter morning.
Let us not forget that it was Holy Angels who, at that first Easter sunrise, announced the greatest news ever told. To commemorate this Moment of Moments, and to
unite ourselves with those and all Holy Angels of every time and place, we are very excited to announce our first ever Holy Angels Easter Sunrise celebration!
Please consider joining us at our outdoor Easter Sunrise Mass at 6:30 a.m., as we joyfully hear and proclaim the message of the Angels: Christ is risen! He is truly risen! Alleluia!
May the magic and mystery of that precious dawn fill us with the overwhelming joy of Easter!
Paschal blessings,
Fr. Kevin
