Holy Angels Pastoral Council, a consultative body, provides a structure where the clergy and laity listen to the Spirit working through each person.   In listening to one another, and through research and study, the Council seeks to arrive at consensus on significant issues in order to develop recommendations for the spiritual growth and pastoral activity of the parish.   (Together in Mission, 1991)

These members of the parish community work together to guide and lead our parish, while also being aware of the struggles and obstacles of today's world.   The Pastoral Council also guides the updating of the Holy Angels Pastoral Plan – our five year strategic plan.

The Holy Angels Pastoral Council includes 11 parishioners; 1 staff member and all parish clergy.   Members must be baptized, confirmed, practicing Catholics; persons who support and enable parish life; and are willing to participate in ongoing formation. Members have 3-year terms.   Each year in the spring, 3-4 new members are named after a nomination process.

The Parish Council meets every fourth Monday, September thru June, from 6:00-7:00pm.  These are closed meetings.  Agenda items are always welcome from parishioners.  Please contact the Council chair, Tom Palffy, through the parish office at (626)  447-1671.  There are three Open Meetings scheduled during the year.  Each Open Meeting is an opportunity for all parishioners to hear what is going on throughout the parish, school, ministries and organizations.   Our parish ministries are also invited to report to the pastoral council about their work.  The Open Meetings are held on a Sunday morning from 10:10am to 11:15am in the parish hall.

For more information or questions about the Pastoral Council, please contact Tom Palffy, Council Chairperson, at (626) 359-9333.
